Boat International Young Design of the Year is a section of the Design and Innovation Awards, one of the most important awards in the Yacht World.

The 2020-edition of Boat International’s Young Designer of the Year awards had the task to plan the refit of an existing Oceanco motor yacht with a length of 87 meters. The most important changes are the increase of the volume on the stern and the bow. This allows to create a new Spa and sports area close to the beach area and a new space on the bow, away from the comfort areas, to use it as a garage tender or a big overview relax area when the electrical doors are closed. The new black lines on the superstructure that seem like big windows, allow hiding the original superstructure and keeping the original portholes.

The interiors of the yacht are made of eco-friendly materials, especially wood and glass.

BLACK HERON YACHT’s 330 sqm upper deck is the owner’s private area. The master cabin has a size of 126 sqm. The guest area accommodates 16 guests in two VIP cabins and six guest cabins. Thanks to sliding doors in the interior, private areas transform into open spaces.
